Dakota bows have won titles at the first two ASA ProAms and IBO Southern Triple Crown shoots. In February at the ASA Florida ProAM I was able to win the Traditional class and at the IBO STC shoot in Wetumpka Alabama Rick Welch won the Longbow class. This past weekend at the ASA Uchee Creek(Ft Benning) ProAM I was able to place first again. So that gives Dakota Bows titles in the first three major 3D events of the year.

Here's "the rest of the story", on that 2nd win. As you know he's in the longbow/wood arrow class. Somehow he bent his arrows & was having a hard time finding a straight arrow. Well He found one for the last few targets & won by like 40 some points! That's crazy!

Congrats to Rick and my main man Dan . Great shooting guys. Ive only made it to two shoots this year. One local mixed shoot and a trad shoot in Bulington NC this past saturday. The local was an ASA state qualifier and the other just grown kids having fun. I shot a Dakota longbow that Rick sent me awile back. 20 targets. Shot a 191 at the local shoot (Got beat my my buddy John Dill who shot a 213) and then a 186 saturday at sissipaw to edge out my friend Preston Roberson. It's a nice shooting longbow. I'm takeing it pig hunting this week and hopfully will post some dead hogs in the trophy room. good shooting to all my Dakota brothers. Don Batten (batman)

Batman thank you brother. Glad to see my Carolina brothers are still at it. Ole Chubby had won a couple of shoots in a row glad to see you brought him back to earth. LOL! Might have been the lack of gas that brought him down. Good to see you are shooting your new bow well. Scott called me the other day and said Chubby was coming with them to the ASA in Augusta. Would be awesome if you, Page and John Dill could make it too. I miss you guys and wished I lived closer cause y'all have too much fun shooting them sticks. Take care and I will see ya later.

Hey Dan, one quick bit of info. I shot with Scott and Jeff saturday. Got them to playing around with 3 under and I think I may have planted a seed that might grow bigger than all of us. Jeff , took my 60lb Dakota home to play with. He shot the ten target toughman all 3 under and finished 1 point behind me and 1 ahead of Scott. It was a hoot. DB

This weekend at the ASA Georgia ProAm I was able to win the Traditional class with my Dakota Pro Hunter. That gives Dakota Bows five wins in 7 tournaments on the big 3D circuits.

Rick be good to see you in Illinois. I will be getting things ready for the Trad World when I get home from Metropolis. I am still thinking about shooting the Longbow in Modern Longbow at the Trad World. Makes good sense if Dakota Bows are represented in more classes than just Master and Recurve.

Dan

Is there any one who shoots 60# or shoots a Longbow with wood arrows to fill in the other classes?

Yes he'll be there. I believe he'll be a guest speaker Friday evening. Looks like Dakota Bows will have a good turnout, let's show em what we can do!

I will be there as will Mr Don Batten of NC and Mr Danny Clark of AR. The Recurve class will be tough. Even if some of the top shooters like Rick shoot in Masters class. It won't any place for the feint of heart. affraid
