Hi all, my name is John, I've been shoting traditional bows for about 2 years. I shoot a 60# Martin Dreamcatcher recurve. I used to shoot compound but grew tired of all the gizmos and gadgets. Traditional is way more fun.

Hey there neighbour. I'm Norm and I am also from Ontario. After many years shooting compound bows I took up a Martin x-200 recurve.
What part of the province are you from ? I'm not far from Algonquin Park

Welcome to all of you. I am in Virginia Beach, Va. I envy some of the game animals/variety you fellows have in your area. How has the bear pop been the past few years? I want to plan a trip there but have not done so just yet. We do have world class fishing and planty of whitetails here at least. I look forward to reading your posts.

Joe

Hey there, I live in a great bear area and I married into a family of bear hunting outfitters so I might have a bit of insight for you.
Since we lost the spring hunt about ten or so years ago, the population has exploded somewhat. I actually took to bear hunting over deer.
Not sure of the actual numbers but "human/bear incidents" have increased well over 10 fold. We had a hotline for problem bears where they would come and trap them and relocate them but the funding has recently been cut back for this service. If you were thinking of coming North for a fall bear hunt, Ontario is the place to go !!

I am interested. Very interested in fact. Sounds like a good situation for a bowhunter.

Yeah, great fun and it can get pretty exciting around the stand sometimes. Especially when there are multiple bears competing for the same bait.
I've taken a number of different game animals including some pretty nice deer but none of them got me so absolutely JACKED UP as when that bear comes in to the bait site.
There are alot of good outfitters to choose from depending on how much you want to spend and what you can expect for service and accomedations. Unfortunately, my in-laws who guide have taken a couple years off from the bear hunting or I'd be plugging them but I'd be glad to help you find the hunt you're looking for. Let me know if I can be of any help to you.
