| I have used both tab and glove. Right now I am using a glove. Many top shooters and hunters I know use tab. I am favouring the glove at this point. Tab seems to keep the fingers working together and a smoother release at times. I guess I am undecided. | |

| I no longer shoot gloves for two reasons:
1.) Price. Generally speaking, tabs tend to be somewhat cheaper. I make my own two hole three under tabs out of leather.
2.) Durability. The tendency of all circular things, when bent, is to crease. Think of an aluminum arrow. When it bends it kinks. Also, bend a pop can and it will crease. Same thing happened to my damascus glove.
The tendency of tabs are to bend or fold without creasing. my tab only slightly bends and I have yet to ever crease one. i lose them before i ruin them.

| Also, I forgot to mention that I find a tab to be more comfortable. On a hot PA day, the gloves cause me to sweat which makes shooting uncomfortable. My tab gives me more air and sensitivity to what I am doing with my fingers.
I would be curious to see what Mr. Rick Welch has to say. He could probably enlighen me as to why he uses gloves over tabs.

| I shoot a black widow 3 under tab. Have shot a glove in the past and still have a couple that will be used again, but I find the tab smoother for now. Glove or tab has never really been a biggie for me. | |

| I like the calf hair Neet glove but don't like how quick they wear out. Thinking of playing with a tab for the heck of it or maybe taking leather fingered Neet gloves (not the calf hair) that I used to shoot and see if I can slick up the finger tips. Getting kind of used to holding the string on the balls of my fingers rather than the deep hook I used to use and It does give a cleaner release. Thinking of shellacking the finger tips with cyanoacrylate to make them stiff and woody. Probably I'll just screw up the glove and go back to the calf hair. | |

| I've been practicing 3 ways....glove, tabs and bare fingers. I prefer a glove for comfort with 3 fingers under. I find the tab I'm using leaves the index finger a little sore after sending quite a few arrows. For just a few shots, I like to shoot bare fingers. I'm afraid I'll forget or lose my tab or glove when I need it most and want to be used to shooting with just the fingers. | |

| When I shot my compound with fingers I used a tab. When I switched over to my recurve I like a glove. I recently bought the neet glove rick uses. and I went from a deep hook to the the tips of my fingers my accuracy has improved. The thing is with the neet glove I wore the hair off the index finger right away and the othe two are following close behind. Im not getting any grooves in the glove but it is getting very thin. Im not sure if I want to try something else or just keep getting the neets. I did use a glove by american leathers but it did groove out an has no feel for the string. I also tried a 3 under tab from 3 rivers. its nice has good protection a slick cordonan surface but i have to use a deep hook with it and Im not as accurate as I am with thr neet glove off the finger tips. | |

| I'm new to the recurve but I started shooting a compound years ago with a tab. I've tried a couple gloves but I prefer the feel I get with a tab and that I can spin it out of the way to the back of my hand to pull arrows from targets.....or trees.... or whatever you're pulling them from !haha | |

| I use tabs for many reasons. I get a better and more consistent release, my tabs are slicker than any glove that I've ever tried, I have far more freedom with my fingers while I'm hunting, my fingers are more controllable on the string with a tab. That's all I can think of right now, I like tabs.
I make my own tabs, I use a process of cut them out then soaking them in water, Once they're wet I'll hang them in the sun to dry out. After they dry good I put a good leather conditioner on them, then dry them in the sun again. When the leather conditioner soaks in and dries, I add the string wax with silicone on them and this produces one slick tab. Oh ya, another reason I like tabs is that I put a piece of leather lace on them and when they're not on my hand they are secured to my bow with a half hitch, I never loose them.
