| I have been checking this forum daily and not seeing much traffic... I guess that I'm in this sorta spot, I have talked to Rick briefly about his shooting school, I am getting ready to place an order on a new Dakota Pro, I've searched and read everything the internet can allow concerning Rick or his bows..Have the video's, tracked down, found, and bought a used Dakota Pro (to hold me over till my new one arrives..lol).....Flinging arrows 3 under adapting to my new form... Haven't "seemed" to get enough, so I would love to talk to a few like minded folks on this forum about it so can ya'll help a fellow trad bow fella out.... | |

Yeah, I talked to Rick, looks like his standby list is up to one year, it's good he's getting plenty of orders and he says the orders are still coming in. Seems he's plenty busy building bows, and teaching his class. He really enjoys the teaching, we talked a good while this last time. All I can say is Rick is a down to earth fella that won't knock the way anyone else does things, he just believes in his method and has seen it work not only for himself but time and time again for many folks. Oh, and he also stands behind the bows he builds. I had one little nitch in my form that I had been struggling with. I briefly touched on it with Rick while on the phone, he asked me to explain in further detail, when I was done he gave me a remedy to the problem, (one which worked). I am of the opinion that Rick is one of the true assets in our stickbow community and look forward to learning all I can from that fella!

I ordered a bow while I was there. I was told 4 months..still waiting.. Yeah, I'm pretty sure since then his orders have doubled he said he has taken a lot of recent orders, I kinda joked with him and told him he needed too hire someone to do the sanding and what not, he said that he did not trust anyone to do it the way he demands it done sorta thing. So as of right now I still believe 'ol Ricks a one man shop! I'm sure your bow will be worth the wait I just picked a used Dakota Pro 62" Recurve 55# @29, I love that thing! (finding a used Dakota proved to be a real challenge) Anyways, I have been shooting the fire outta it, with the new form and all I have pains in muscles in my back I did not know was there in the first place..lol I had to take a few days off my fingers are some kinda sore!! I have Ricks video's for now, and plan on attending his school in January. I may just hold off ordering my bow till I get there, for the new bow I think I am gonna go a lighter weight for target shooting and keep the 55# bow I have now for hunting.
