I'm typing this from the Gold Coast in Queensland, Australia (for all of you in the USA, the Gold Coast is sort of like the Miami of Australia)

I've been shooting for only around 6months and it's a real mix of pleasure and pain. I shoot a recurve (50# Hoyt Gamemaster) and was never tempted by the 'cogs and pulleys' bows. Very effective bits of equipment but I like the simplicity of trad shooting. Around our local 3D course, some of the compound shooters say not to follow a trad shooter as they hold you up looking for lost arrows. My reply is at least I'm shooting and not standing around playing with allen wrenches.

The pain is coming because there is literally no-one I've found here that shoots trad bows instinctively. They all gap shoot or on the odd occasion they shoot instinctive, they're not in a position to coach a newcomer. I've joined up to the forum in the hopes that I might be able to get pointers to get me on the right path.

Instinctive shooting is far and away the most enjoyable way to shoot for me and that's why I do it. I know that getting good means shooting thousands and thousands of arrows but having some guidance has got to help, right?

Cheers, S

Welcome aboard ! Great to meat you ! I'm somewhat new to trad bows but I have picked up alot of tips and knowledge in a short time. Mostly due to sites like this one. Another great site is www.tradbow.com There is a great deal of helpful info and people willing to share on it. Well worth checking out ! Good luck and I'm always glad to help if I can !
