A lot of students that goes to Ricks school says they were over bowed. Rick gets them down in bow weight. If you went to his school what was your pull weight when you started the school and how much lower poundage do you shoot now? Waiting for fall and Rick look like they could pull a lot of bow weight, but I heard Rick shoots 40# weight in 3D shoots, and Waiting for fall shoots high 40# pound bows.I shoot 50# for hunting and am comfortable at that draw weight. If you went to Ricks school I would like to hear if you benefited from dropping down in bow weight ...Scott

Well, when I attended his class I had just bought a new bow, Martin Howatt hunter. It's 55lbs @ 28", I over draw it by 3.5". We put it on a scale and I was pulling 67lbs.
So needless to say, at the end of the two day class I was beat! I've been shooting that same bow for about a year and a half now. I can shoot it confidently, especially for hunting,
one draw, one shot, that's easy. Even at the range it's not that bad, when I'm tired I stop. The real issue is on the 3D course. As the day wears on I become quite fatigued, I find my
shot breaking down towards the late middle half of the round. I can sometimes pull it back together on shear will...I get pissed off, ha! but that's no way to shoot. So, that was the long way of saying I'm gonna be getting a new bow, probably 51lbs @ 30.5". I feel I'll be able to hunt and shoot 3D all day long with that weight. I know some people hunt with bows in the
45lb range, but for me I just feel under gunned. I try to shoot everything under 20 yards but if I have to reach out to 30 yards, anything less will stop me from mentally feeling good about the shoot.

I'll post when I get a new bow.
