Hi, I'm Allan DeVore from Oklahoma City. I went to Rick's school/hunt near Abilene, TX, a couple of months ago where I also got to know Dave and some other guys. It was a great experience, and I learned a lot about my shooting errors and how to correct them. My shooting has improved, and so has my confidence as a result of Rick's instruction.

Hi Dave. It sure was nice getting to know you at the camp in TX. You are a great guy to be around, and I look forward to sharing a camp with you again in the future. You are doing some neat things with your video and computer skills, and I want you to know how much I personally appreciate you and all you have done and are doing.

I was fortunate to be able to be in TX and have all the good instruction from Rick. I like having Rick video my shooting and then have me watch myself shoot while Rick explains what I was doing wrong. After hearing from Rick and being able to see what he is talking about, all my mistakes become readily apparent to me. That lets me know when I do something wrong and then know from Rick's teaching what I need to do to correct it. My two big problems were not taking the time to stabilize my body before my release and plucking the string. I still do both of those things more than I would like, but I know what I am doing when it happens and can correct my mistakes on the next shot. Before being at Rick's school I either didn't know what I did wrong or didn't know how to change it to make it right. Now I know both those things, and my shooting is much better as a result.

That's good stuff man! Help me tell the world we are here for ANYONE who wants to shoot instinctively, better than they ever have in their lives! This is more than a forum, it's meant to be an ongoing support resource with one of the greatest shots in the world(no not me Razz ), Rick Welch at the helm. He will be on here as much as possible, & he wants to help everyone who joins us. I really hope foks get interested in the video webcam classes that I'm itching to get going. Where else do you have the opportunity to talk to 7 see online one of the greats of traditional archery, specifically to help YOU stay on track. Answer; NOWHERE that I know of. Let's seriously take it to the next level, & recruit legions of accuracy addicted traditional archers!

Dave, your enthusiasm is addictive. This forum is a great idea and will help a lot of people improve their shooting and enjoy traditional archery to the fullest. I like the fact that Rick shoots purely instinctively, like I do, and that he does not try to make old dogs like me change my split fingered shooting just because it works better for many people -- especially him. I have been shooting split for 52 years and don't think I could change if I wanted to, and I don't. I like it that Rick teaches a method, not a rigid style of shooting.

Hi Jason. I am heading back to Africa on June 18. I am glad to hear you are going to Bowhunting West Texas next year. I may be able to join you if there is room. I am up late packing tonight to head to Sweden in the morning . My son is getting married in Sweden and then graduating from art school in Italy the following week. It will be a fun trip, but I will leave my bows at home. Good to hear from you. I will write more later.
